As your labor and birth doula, I will help you throughout your pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum phase.
First, we will meet for a consultation. It’s important to make sure that we “fit” as doula and client. We can discuss all of the questions you have and talk about how we could work together to make your birth great! Consultations are commitment-free.
After our initial consultation, we will meet another 2-4 times for prenatal visits before your baby is born. These visits will give us a chance to talk about what you envision for you birth and what we can do to make your ideal birth come true! We will also discuss how your pregnancy is going and anything we can tackle as a team to get you and baby ready for the big day.
When you go into labor, I will join you whenever you are ready for more support. I can help provide comfort measures for coping with the normal sensations of labor, as well as support you through any medical interventions or medications you decide on.
After the baby’s birth, I will visit 1-2 times to ensure that your postpartum period is going well. Having a newborn is a joyous time, but can be overwhelming as well! It’s important to feel supported and have access to resources throughout your time as a new (or veteran) parent. Doulas can help you feel ready and armed for any challenges that come your way.
Throughout our entire relationship as doula and birthing parent, you will have 24/7 access to texting, calling, and emailing to ask questions and chat about whatever you need. I can also provide you with lots of resources to help you in your journey of parenting.
